@James,
I really like those plug-ins. Are these for Windows OR Linux? I am running Windows 7 (x64).
I have your Gimp 2.7 and I would like to add those GAP plug-ins. Would they interfere with the GAP that came pre-installed with your Gimp 2.7?

I am a bit leery of making a boo-boo that will affect what is already working well.

Thanks James. :)
I will test it tonight when i have more time.I am interested in seeing how filters work with it.
Most particularly i would like to see how Map Object on varying setting pans out.

Because I need another language to the test - question - Where can I find new files "po" or "mo" (translation?) I guess I'm looking badly - I can not find

The varying option still doesn't work for Map Object.I get one layer or frame that is mapped and the last frame mapped, but when i set up frames to image i get 1 frame of mapped object, and 30 layers of flat image.
I used the 1 setting for constant speed varying.Perhaps that isn't correct?

it is the Map Object it own problem, not the GAP
maybe you can try copy gimp 2.6's map-object.exe
it should work

James you were right about the map object plugin, I replaced mine with the one from 2-6-11 and all is OK I hope.

Thankyou for such an easy solution.

But when called upon normally from the Gimp it gives an error that it it uses the command add-layer instead of Insert-layer. Which does not effect the outcome, maybe someone knows how to change this. I restarted Gimp and tried again, and this time it outputs only on the console which poses no real problem. :yes

These Images below done in Gimp 2-7-7 using Map Object from 2-6-11

I added the map-object.exe from Gimp 2.6.11 to 2.7.
I was able to map to cylinder and sphere, but it won't map to box. I can't understand why it would work for two and not the third one.
I don't get an error but it just doesn't change to the box, even on the preview.

Molly try changing the settings in the Orientation tab to X -70 and Z -26, if you have wireframe on it will show your box then press OK your new image will be your box.

Those are not errors, they are warnings. The warnings can be disabled by running GIMP with the "--pdb-compat-mode on" option. (If one desired, she could have actual errors produced by setting the pdb-compat-mode option to "off".)

Hi Nelo.

Unfortunately, only where the source files were located during the compilation.
In my Gimp_Gap_64bit build it will be::
c:\msys64\mingw64\share\locale\de\LC_MESSAGES\gimp20-gap.mo
As for the JamesH compilation (32 or 64Bit), I don't know.
The German version of gimp20-gap.mo contains a lot of errors (spaces, dots, no translations) and probably never fulfilled its purpose.
Without delving into the correctness of the translation, I only fixed the errors and it works (if you want to use it, it is in the attachment).

Thank you @MareroQ
I'll give it a try.
The errors wouldn't be the problem once it's working.
I can correct what's wrong and missing.

Thanks for your input, Rod.
The problem is not to get GAP working.
It works.
The problem is to get the language file to the right place, so that GAP is translated.
I would think a place like
C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\share\locale\de\LC_MESSAGES
would be good, as it holds all the other language files. But it doesn't respect it from there.

Tried it inside the GAP folder as well and some other places ... but it just doesn't want to translate :-(
