Groovy, Graechen. I will definitely put this through the wringer. Got a quick question. When I use the 3d option, I get some blacked out areas in the result, regardless of the settings. This usually happens in script-type font. Can this be corrected or is it just a quirk from using script-type font?

I did some too with a black background, they only showed up when I put a lighter bg in. I just blamed it on the contrast between the foreground and background.

Nixnine the 3d-Extusion Filter from GMIC does not perform well with narrow lines e.g. most script fonts.
If your font doesn't work, try the newer version of Metallica below.

after reading the read-me, I deduce that this script is not for mac users? Also, anyone know if there is a new updated gmic version for mac? My version doesn't allow me to get all the updated and added filters.

Metallica can now handle narrow fonts.

Thanks for the update! :)
Great script.

Is there any way to get it to do any shape (alpha to logo)?

I removed that as the results were poor, your better of using bevel and gmic so you can adjust the result.

Instead I've been working on a frames script with results as below.

Groovy. I like it but I'm having little problem. When I try the expansion, the resultant image is a plate. Now that is really cool too. But not all the time. Any ideas on what is happening?

Ana that is really nice, what font did you use? To get the text so thick, did you jack up the thickness in the dialog? it is so very 3-Dimensional.

Nixnine could you post a screenshot of the settings used to get the plate image so that I can try to duplicate it becouse so far I can't using the script, neither has anyone else.

Used a frame from Frightful Frames on this website on this page. http://www.fontspace.com/category/frames?p=3

Colored the pumpkin and eyes after I made the bronze frame.

Graechen, I'm using the default settings. The only thing different is the expansion. I set that at one.

I'm still unable to duplicate, can you and are you using the 2-6-11 or 2-7 version of Gimp.
