I didn't plan, i really didn't plan create another cartoon filter!!

Neverthless even if i wrote to try to satisfy a totally different request this looks as another cartoon filter.

before upload to my source i want to do some minor changes (change Filter name and remove the SKIP option ) but i will be really busy for a couple of days so if somebody want to try the code is on pastebin ...here

That's pretty wild. Lots of detail highlighted with the rgb spectrum colors. I really like the little Morrocan girl. All that white then the cyan panel on the right really makes great contrast.

I did this one with your filter PC.
I then placed the original on top and placed the mode to Hue.
Came out pretty nice.



I had to use Imageshack to upload the image as GimpChat seemed to not want to upload it.

Very nice job of the eagle Rod, I love the shades of blue in the background.

I'm new to GIMP, but all the available versions of GMIC I test always - and always Cartoon - if this case - it is really interesting !

but somehow add the option made the new filter to vanish...i mean vanish from the gmic menu, is not more there...i still can see the code i refreshed 3 times, even reloaded gimp checked again the file...

No visible error or warning messages just the filter is not more seen.. going to check again ..

Did you forget your password to your filter access, PC? Figured you would just host them on the server.

Mahvin i just broke the code ...i mean is weird but for some reason gmic just skip the code and the filter doesn't show up in the menu

maybe i did a error with the channel choser widget , it is the first time i used now i remove that snippet and see if something changes...but i am really confused ..even if are errors in the code the filter should appear in the menu...

well i post what i have till now...but is broken,
the error should be something obvious may be simple to fix

Ok fixed but the channel choser control doesn't work
before upload i must fix or more simply remove the line of code related to the channel choser

anyway till now (already working except that the option to chose the channels does nothing)

Maybe i already fixed when copying here (i corrected a typo ) ,i m going to check.

There is no preview for this filter.

Also, I was just messing around with Ink Wash, and did you know that if you duplicate your image and run ink wash on the top layer with Input Layers as All visible, it places the ink wash effect on the bottom layer, but leaves the top layer in color with smoothing? Interesting.

Getting some weird but interesting effects when mixing filters:

weird the preview works but you are right sometimes seems frozen on the original

If happen again, Uncheck the preview box and then check it again...that somehow force a preview update

but it is happening to me seldom, mostly calling again the filter after saved a preset

But i should see what is wrong with the channel choser

I am very happy with the result much less with the code.

So well i am going to upload as it is now because it works well, and to ask help in the gmic flickr group to improve
(as now may not support transparency and doesn't give the option to chose a channel )

you may try to use on a dup over the original and change mode to value or darken only

You have whiteness set at .30 for default, but the slider only works in sequences of single digits using the mouse wheel. Can you adjust that?

The preview for the server version started working once I removed the added filter from the .gmic file.

Mahvin i can't do much for the slider :
more is the range to control is wide, the less accurancy have the slilider, become jumpy and tend to skip intermediate values

so yes to finetune is better type in the numeric box,i will ask in the flickr group if there is some way to fix
