I have submitted this script to the GIMP Plug-in Registry. I have also updated the script so that it is about 10-15% faster (otherwise no changes).

Thanks for all the help in working out the kinks.

Cool. I downloaded the newest version - really like having your initials in the filename. Thanks for the nice plug for Gimp Chat in the Registry. :-D

I think the GIMP developers may have removed that brush in 2.8. The file, "Circle-1.vbr", can be downloaded from GIMP's online repository, but that is just a temporary solution until I get around to updating the script.

:ninja

Those circle brushes are irrelevant in v 2.8. You size the big circle brush to the size you want.

I know, I tried it because at first I was thinking they should be there. Copied them from my old v2.6 program files brushes folder. They just took up space in my brushes folder.

I've attached all the old circle brushes but they are really a waste of time and space in v2.8

Can't you just use the big circle brush and size it to the size the script calls for. I need to look over this thread to see what is going on.

I just tried the script and it works fine. Be sure to not change the text layer to anything else. Apparently the script needs the text input to work.

The only thing you need a brush for is to stroke the path after the script is finished. I sized the big round brush to 5 pixels and used the path to stroke the text.

That is what I need to modify the script to do. Could you tell me the name of the "big circle brush"? Also, if somebody could tell me the PDB procedure for setting the brush size in 2.8, I could try to modify the script "blindly" (I don't have 2.8 installed on but one machine, and that is not currently available).

As to what is going on (if memory serves), the script needs to determine the minimum image size that would completely contain the text/path being warped. It currently does this by stroking the path with the 1-pixel brush and then autocropping. For text, I could just fill the path but that approach isn't guaranteed to work for arbitrary paths.

The name and path of the brush is file:///usr/share/gimp/2.0/brushes/Basic/Hardness-100.vbr

That's where it is located on my Linux machine. I don't know where it would be on a Windows machine but maybe the script doesn't need the path.

Maybe just having the name and setting the size to 1 would work.

I didn't have any trouble using the script in 2.8.2.

Here is an image of the paintbrush options where you resize the brush.

Have you been able to incorporate the pbm procedure? I'd love to use the script, but I keep getting the error message about the missing brush circle (01). And the internal filter isn't much help right now, either.

Yes, it has been updated and can be downloaded from here.
