Rel1

A newer and much better version of Xmas-Ornament now with menu controls over fill and opacity of background.

It also has a logo script that can be a lot of fun.

Rel2

Canged code to function with RobA's final release of Filltrans and incorporated It's additional features. Please make sure you install script included in the download replacing any versions already installed, and refresh, Also don't forget to install MathMap via the attachments and Instructions in the README PDF

Menu Location for logo script is Script-Fu/Logos
Menu Location for alpha script is Script-Fu/Map

; Rel 0.03 - Changed code to incorporate RobA's Filltrans and Added some Bugfixes

; Rel 0.04 - Removed Mathmap dependency

; Rel 0.06 Download here↓

I had to do a bit of finagling to do the font the way I wanted to. Very nice script, Graechan. :tyspin

That's an amazing script.

FYI; I'm on Vista, Gimp 2.6.11. For some reason the windows installer didn't copy "Xmas-ornament-2.6.scm". I did it myself and all is well.

The script makes that ornament and cap that you see above, starting with a square layer.
Is this what you are asking PC?

I found if I deleted the text and put a period (.) for the text and made the text size as small as I can (6), I can make a square with the stuff how I want it. I copied it to the clipboard and used that as the ball. Somewhere a black period is lurking on the ball but I can't see it.

Here is the logo script in Gimp-2.7
Works fine for me in Windows 32 bit.

Image

And the logo script in Gimp-2.6.11
Image

For some reason after i changed xmas to Christmas throughout the script it errors on the Filter/Map/Christmas Ornament. It opens the dialog but after i click okay it does nothing. :lol
I probably missed a Christmas in there somewhere.

Fixed! :bigthup

The logo script runs nicely though.

I opened the gimp logo (Wilbur), and gave it a black bg and merged it together then ran the script.
This is Gimp-2.7.4 and Gimp-2.6.11 side by side running script-fu>map>ornament.

Rod you may need to increase the canvas size and centre wilbur before running script, I also decreased opacity to 90 to make it easier to see the image outline.

From this500X500

To this 550X550

An exellent example is pink-fairy-wings(from Lorri,I think).
