Mathmap does not work in any Gimp 64 bit version its only for 32 bit versions. If you have 2.6.11 working without errors has your libxml2.dll gone from your bin folder.

Rod Ifound it thankyou, but it's 1.2.4 do you think we should try that and maybe later upgrade to 1.3.5?
I believe that should work it does not have a libxml2.dll

No ,i may have old versions at deviantart (i can't update that pages sorry ) but i posted here the very last
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2636&start=0

it is 1.3.5 ,and it includes already all additional filters ,as Rod wrote has not a installer just zipped file with instruction

BTW i did not participate to your discussion with Gnutux but i believe that as far for a windows version include MM binary is not a bad idea
( i found the risk to have the file replaced by malware very remote...as now i have no any report to attempts to modify the gimp plugins i was hosting on DA(i use the paste because i lost and i can't recover the PW from long, still from time to time i ccheck the files for integrity,i never had problem)

and yes are not 64 bit version the version for 2.7 is identical to that for 2.6 as far the MM code (so as example you will see harmless warning about deprecated command used )the difference are some additional dll needed to run in 2.7)

@Rod maybe better pin MM ?

I finally got the mathmap and the Christmas-Ornament running thanks to all of the help from the crew here. Now how do I make the bulb see through? If that's not over staying my welcome. Is it a filter? Like I say I'm new to gimp.
Thanks

The best way i think to do this is
alpha to select the ball layer (sphere)
Now cut and paste and select NEW layer as the place to paste it.(do not anchor)
Now just place that layer above the sphere layer and adjust the opacity.
The background layer will now show through.
Save the image as PNG extension to preserve transparency.

Another cool way to make it see through is to create your mapped to object layer as a web of color and transparency. When the layer is mapped it will look like a woven ball with a hallow inside.

Then simply use Colors>Colorize to finish it off.

Rod this script definitely works with 2.8.10 and I've just made some small changes to Improve.
new release coming soon, that no longer needs RobA's Filltrans script, just have to mow lawn first
I might even change menu location to Script-Fu

i did try yesterday result was pretty cool ... (alas also lost because i crashed gimp with a too heavy animation), i would like a option regarding the text:
the possibility to skip the text effects EXCEPT the mapping ( but use for the text the output from some other script , for example of LOTR
BTW from output of other scripts i intend , in case that has more layers , the visible on transparent BG )

Thanks Graechan. Is it possible to allow for a lighting effects adjustment?
I added this one to the ball layer. :)

Image

Sort of gives it more dimension i think.

Fullback66 when you installed MathMap and restarted your gimp did it appear in your menu?
Also if you could let me know what operating system you are using and whether your gimp is 32bit or 64bit, I will post the install files for you
