pirate541 it probably installed into gimp-2.8/gimp-2.6 folder
Move it (the mathmap folder) to the .gimp-2.8 folder and the plugin (executable) to the gimp-2.8/plug-ins folder. It should now work. The MathMap installer auto installs into gimp-2.6 folder and you need to change this directory while installing or do as i stated above. Hope that helps.

Rod I've never liked the installer as it doesn't install all the additional filters for MathMap, whereas the links and instructions I've posted do

I would just place the mathmap folder in the gimp-2.8 folder. Gimp will auto see it there. That is it's normal install location.

Finally got it to install..It is kinda aggravating, because there are 2 plugin folders:one for user and one in Gimp lib.
I had to figure out which goes where :)

After installing do we need to create a path again?
Obviously didn't. I only refreshed scripts before. and not much happened.
After restarting gimp it worked.
Now I don't have to install mathmap again yet. Thank you Graechan!
