I remember when you made this script. I tried to use it today and it doesn't work in gimp2.6 for me.

I tried it in mine and it worked as long as you have an image or back ground in your layers list. =)

Script is a no go on my machine. I haven't looked at it to see what the issue could be. It doesn't appear to like something in the "set" statement.

That is strange, i just downloaded it set the perms to unblock, and threw it in my scripts folder in my user docs.Fired up Gimp and found it in Script-Fu/Transform/Mirror
Doesnt work unless there is an image to select first, i set it to duplicate once vertically and hit okay.
It made a perfect new image with two black rectangles. =)

Are you guys using the same one from that link up there?
maybe it's an update for 2.6.10

You probably get the same message I get, Greg.

I had an image in my layer. The script would have been grayed out if there were no image.

Yep. I deleted the one in my scripts; I downloaded it to my scripts folder.

My results after running it with no copy and 1 duplicate at vertical.

So the script works.
Maybe the image size has something to do with it?
Doesn't seem like that would matter though. My image size is 640x400.

I am using the script from above, with Gimp 2.6.10 on a laptop running Windows XP-SP3 and I get the same error as Oregonian.

The only thing i can think it could be is you need to right click and select properties and unblock the script...i had to.

Tried that and I still get the message. I don't know what's keeping it from working. I used it in the past and it was fine.

It would have been grayed out if I had written the script properly (oh how I hate having to revisit scripts written back when I didn't know what I was doing :) ).

The problem with the script was that I failed to initialize my variables in the let* statement. One used to be able to get away with this but, since GIMP 2.4 this has not been true (actually, you can sometimes get away with it, but not always; this is probably why people are experiencing different behaviors).

I have provided an updated version of the script (which hopefully works) at
http://chiselapp.com/user/saulgoode/repository/script-fu/wiki?name=sg-mirror-dup.

Cool! It's working! Now I have to get used to it being in a different location.

Was Script-Fu > Transform > Mirror

Now Filters > Map > Mirror

Thanks saulgoode! :hi5

NOTE: I don't know why I am posting this here! GAH! (Sorry Saul G) I saw you added a revised script after reading through the posts, but was actually answering another question elsewhere. :gaah

Try changing the let statements:

(let* ((work-image 0)
(new-layer 0)
(orig-width 0)
(orig-height 0)

Or does XP hate Scheme? I don't understand why there is such a wide difference between Windows versions.

A lot of my problems were solved by downloading Gurm and installing it.No more scripts called all at once and they work a lot better when their are just a few it seems.

GURM was the answer for me.
BTW the new scm works perfectly.

Hallo,
because I´m very interested in these art of mirroring for my naturephotos, i find this script here (script-fu-sg-mirror-dup)
It´s very nice, but is it possible, to process a hole directory in this way (like a batch)? Not only the picture I already opened.
I hope you could help me to change this script, because I have not really experience with Gimp and these things.

Thank you very much for you

I had 3 versions of the script and It's the version located under Filters \ Map that is the one to keep.

(sg mirror-dup Revised September 2010 to work with GIMP 2.4 and later). The other 2 are from fx-foundary and the one in script-Fu is for pre gimp 2.4,Now I think I will delete them.
