I failed to get an error in my gimp so I installed a new portable 2-8-16 and only installed metal text rel7 still no errors,so I checked every occurrence of gimp-layer-resize-to-image-size, all showed the 'layer-parameter to be there before and after the call :gaah

Don’t be afraid to start over. It’s a new chance to rebuild what you want.

It was a simple text layer with background,
canvas of 640x400.
Serif Bold font, size 110 (all caps).
Aligned text layer to center, using Alignment Tool.
Did layer to image size on text layer.
Deleted Background layer.

In the case of my last posted screenshot.
I used your name,
everything else was done the same as described above.

Errors nill, no image-layer

Wallace does this error happen when selecting other backgrounds, or when ran on default settings

I haven't run the script when selecting other backgrounds.

I mostly run it using defualt settings,
except for keeping layers, no 3D effect and no background.
Much like the settings,
which can be seen in the screenshot below.

I ran Metal Alpha on the wallace_text.xcf file that I posted.
This is the results.

I haven't run the script when selecting other backgrounds.

I run it with default setting, minus a few options.
Which I guess isn't really default settings.

The Metal Text script works.
It's the Metal Alpha throwing the errors.

I think that maybe we're not understand each other,
or it's me not understanding what you're asking?

The 'Metal Alpha' Script is contained in 'metal text.scm' which is why you should only have 1 'metal text.scm'

Yes,
I only have the one script in my Gimp user scripts folder.

I must not understand what you're asking.

Run on a background image????

Selecting other background????

:puzzled

I can run the script however you want me to,
but run it on a background,
or a selection on background???

I'm not getting it?

Image

Ran Metal Alpha on a shape.
Using default settings.
Left white background.

It seems to be working?
But that's not what I was trying to make.
I want only the text.
No background, no 3D effect and keep layers.
