Hy i am playing with 3D fractal but i am not much happy of the included gradient (some gradient is included as map) so i would like to export my gradient as png

basically the script should apply the gradient in linear mode (but a options for other mode would be nice) in the most simple way (in case of linear gradient to make fit all the gradient without repetition ) to a new layer (may big as the active layer or as for user choice in both cases would be fine)

would be beautiful but not strictly needed a option to,save on a user chosen path each gradient as png using as name a progressive number stating from a user chosen number .

example
1 gradient mode Linear
2 chosen path to exported png C:\Users\PhotoComiX\Documents\mandelblub\M3Maps
3 BOOL : Name+ progressive number OR only progressive number ?
Only progressive number "300"

all gradient will ge applied in linear mode to images big as the active layer ,each will be saved in
C:\Users\hp\Documents\mandelblub\M3Maps as 300.png,301png,302.png...and so on

hem..hoping to not ask to much would be nice also a hard ege option for gradients (that yes would look similar to a palette but gradient may be applied also in radial or conical mode...and that would look quite different )

How's this? I think it does what you asked for, if I understood correctly. Just blank out the "File Base Name" if you just want numbers.

EDIT: Updated to handle transparency....

Oops - just realized this is broken for gradients with transparency (it doesn't clear the later first so the gradients get layered)... working on a fix.

EDIT: Fixed attachment in first post.

Hy Rob as i wrote the linear option worked perfectly
but now i tried to change option from linear and i saw that even if "shape" seems a dropdown menu has only a option , linear

i wonder if you did by purpose ( as you know i am not good in script fu but maybe i may manage to add some more option for shapes... ) or if the other options went MIA without you noticed

In any case i prefer let you know also because is a bit weird a dropdown menu that contain only a single option

:bump

Hy i had idea to make it much more flexible without add much complication:
instead then a hardcoded shape would be possible use the active shape ?

i explain better as default the gradient tool is set to linear so as default result would be a linear gradient

but if before run the script i click the gradient tool and i change the shape ...,i.e in radial, then the gradient will be radial

Maybe is more simple then add more option in a dropdown menu but would be equally effective

Alas my script fu skill doesn't go much further then replace the hardcoded shape linear with another , but then i would end with a series of script one for each shape  ,,,i hope for a more elegant and practical solution

:bump :bump EVEN a better idea only 1 added option to make it much more powerful and flexible:

a bool Automatic/Manual

if Automatic the script work exactly as now if Manual the setting chosen in the gradient that would be applied all the gradients !

(so all settings in the gradient window except that regarding the gradient to use:
all one by one instead then the active one once )

Sorry I'm not sure what you mean :(

I made the type (linear) a menu option, but only set up one choice (linear) and it paints using the entire width of the image.

What would you want the other ones to do? Go from where to where for radial, square, conical, spiral?

Yes would be excellent if the gradient paints using the entire width of the image, in the different shapes

and i will love a option to change the option to repeat (used in the script )to paint the whole gradient in the image ) from the default"None to "N-" sawtooth" or triangular waves where N is user chosne and is a integer => 1
1 would fill the whole image ignoring wahtever repetition mode is chosen and 1 may be the default

bigger values will repeat N times in sawtooth or triangular waves the gradient

i hope is not too complex a alternative may be just allow to set up manually the first gradient, and automatically repeat for all the others gradients

sorry for all the typo , it should be fixed now
i
