Excellent idea Graechan ! I'll try to make something similar directly as a G'MIC filter.
Maybe I can allow different images on each side of the cube too.
I suppose that scrambling the positions of the squares could also gives an interesting effect !

Well you've done it again. Great script. Thanks Graetchan. I kinda went nuts this morning when I say your post. Love it, Love it , Love it!

I was playing around with some of my metal creations to make a cube and got a little crazy with it. :yes

David I think allowing different images would be great, I used GMIC instead of map-object becouse map-object was like waiting for the grass to grow. I would like to thank everyone for their fantastic images and kind comments. This script originated fromm an Idea I had after veiwing Photomasters tutorial. If anyone wants the Map-Object version I still have it (but it's very very very slow).

I have done something similar with the same exact image! Looks amazing with the Hope and Rubix Cube script!

With all the positive response I thought I might add an animation option soon.

For Gimp 2.8/2.9 scripts work well only for Export Image as Gif use One frame per layer (replace).
