Yeah; I noticed that too. They completely revamped the G'MIC interface. Was going to pm Tom (he's the creator of this preset) but haven't yet. :)

Edit:
Just posted a query at the G'MIC Flickr forum Erisian. :)

'Metallic look' is a filter by Tom Keil, and is now managed by Tom. I guess he has placed it in folder 'Colors/'.
But as is is defined in Tom's filter source, I guess that if you have some issues with enabling external filter sources, you won't find 'Metallic look' at all :(
I'm planning to have a look at this problem next Monday, but I need some additional testing (because, it was working correctly on my virtualized XP).
I need to know what is your operating system, as well as to get one copy of your gmic.log file, after tried to :
- Run G'MIC.
- Select 'Output Messages' -> 'Very Verbose (logfile)'
- Push the 'Refresh filters' button.
- Get the log file in your Local temp folder, and send it to me (or copy paste it here).

Thanks a lot for your help.

I didn't think to look there but I installed the new G'MIC over the old one and metallic look appeared in faves but wouldn't run from there. I'm running XP. i'll reinstall the new version and try running it from Tom's section.

EDIT: I found it and it's fine. Thank you very much for your help.

This is the error I get on them all when I refresh, including Tom Keil's

The only two that show in my menu is Gentlemanbeggar's and PhotoComix. The others are all missing. in this 1.5.1.1 version. I am using Fedora 16. I didn't have any problem with the prior version.

I didn't have to refresh. I just installed over the top of the old version and all my presets were there. Maybe you can't do that with Fedora?

I install over the old version and it replaces the previous version automatically.

Didn't it keep your old presets?

Maybe you see mine because i didn't move all my filters in the "normal" menu
(but listed there should be only some "layer mode tweaks" that i use as component for other filters, the rest of mine are in the various menu most in Artistic, a couple in Black and white and another 2 in pattern,

I decided to just use the last stable version until David gets a chance to fix the new one. :)
On a side note (off topic)
I have to say also that when i started Gimp-2.8 yesterday i began to get memory allocation errors.
Probably pdb calls as the error was for those so i uninstalled all versions and re-installed Gimp-2.6.12
All fine now.

I think i will also stick with Gimp-2.6.12 until well...until they develop a better version.
I will still compile plugins for Gimp-26 and 2.7 32 bit for Windows though.

i was tempted to use the 28rc1 portable from Samij as base for my incoming windows friendly" 64 bit version because the compatibility with 32 bit plugin ,but seems too slow

Export 4800x3200 images as png is just a pain for some reason last 2.7 seems much faster
