Hi.

There's a problem with Gimp-2.8.0 RC1 opening/saving xcf.gz and xcf.bz2 files

It is a problem with the plug-in "file-compressor", which registers the extensions xcfgz, xcf.gz, xcfbz2, xcf.bz2 to gimp.
I cannot (*f...g*) bzip2 get to run. I always get the error of unreferenced functions for libbz2. Solutions are welcome.
I thought, that only windows users have problems with inconsistencies. HAHAHAHAHA!
So I decided to wipe out the bzip2-functionality to get at least the gz-functionality.
It works. Only with xcfgz, xcf.gz. xcfbz2, xcf.bz2 makes an error

Gimp-2.8.0-RC1
Windows 32bit

libz-1.dll to bin
file-compressor to lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins

Another solution (XP 32bit) - add missing file
minigzip.exe (add to the bin directory - or lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins)

That didn't work for me, because gimp didn't recognize the extensions xcfgz or xcf.gz

For me (XP 32bit-GIMP2.8 RC1), with the addition of minigzip.exe opens / saves xcfgz, xcf.gz, xcfbz2, xcf.bz2.
Maybe even something missing in RC1 - check out the dependencies for file-compressor.exe ?
Ps. Maybe it is about bzip2.dll ?
Pps. I am not reliable for testing - I have a lot of versions of GIMP and the difference may come from a set path in environment variables ...
