I'm wondering if anybody has had any experience with this plugin. http://registry.gimp.org/node/25305 Is it of any use to somebody with no script writing experience at all?

if you have the patience to read its readme file, (or doc or how is called, now i don't remember)..yes !

It can help a lot to automatize repetitive tasks

So if you may read the.."how it works" may be quite useful

I wanted to create a topic bout this but I think 2.8 has something better in it.

Well it works 99% without a hitch for me. In every software there are always bugs, even in stable builds, it is an inherit part of coding. I don't think it is right for everyone to automatically say "Oh well this part isn't fixed yet, I'm not gonna use it," especially since GIMP is open-source. They are programming this amazing piece not out of paycheck, but instead out of want. They have put so many hours into this that it is to be expected that these things would happen! If we were using a commercial software the bugs would be fixed a lot faster yes, but at the slave rate hours! Just be glad these bugs are even getting fixed! Most of the open source projects don't get worked on for years at a time.

No problem. Some folks actually do not know how to navigate to the actual download package itself on Github so i thought it would help a bit to just post a direct link. It doesn't seem to work in GIMP-2.8.6 though. It worked fine in GIMP-2.7 versions. Does it need GLADE to run?

g-scripter
I probably have not used gimpscripter,
for what it was specifically designed,
but more as a list, the gui is a visual
dictionary of all menu items.
And it looks like it can be used to
put together as many of those items
into one, YourName shortcut.
Creates new ShortCut menu on Gimp's
Image Menu Bar.
