Mathmap is another one of those plugins that never cease to amaze. (http://registry.gimp.org/node/22298) Here are some of my images that I used mathmap to create. Maybe we can see some other images made with mathmap??

Hi Greg , nice , especially the animated ones. I have made some Droste Escher ones before , but the last clock is very impressive with the smooth transition between nodes. Didnt you show the sunset one on the other forum some time back?

Cheers John

Before I try, will this plug-in work in Gimp 2.4?

@wbool - I have posted on a few sites over the last few years.

@2-ton - I have used mathmap on Gimp 2.2, 2.4 and 2.6, with no problems at all.

@PhotoComix - Awesome work! I always find your work to be an inspiration!

Oy, PC, your stuff is the stuff of nightmares, and I must say the scariest is when you use that doll image, lol.

I downloaded it, expected to see a zip file, but it's not. So I am not sure how or where to put it. It looks like an exe file of some sort, and I assume it goes into a plug-in folder, but would feel more secure with an actual path to follow to make sure I put it in the correct place. As you can see, I am still at the beginner level, lol.

It is an actual exe plugin, place it in your plug-ins folder and you will be all set. =)

Usually but not in this case, at least not for the last version http://www.complang.tuwien.ac.at/schani ... -setup.exe

In this case it is a installer so just run it

The installer puts the exe in it's place and puts the mathmap equations (expressions) in their place. Don't worry if you don't know math, because you don't have to. They work like very powerful scripts/plugins. If you know math, you can create new equations, or modify existing ones.

It comes up under Filters>Generic for me in GIMP 2.6.10.

Try reinstalling in your user/my docs/gimp 2.4/plug-ins folder
I had to do that, and it will actually create a 2.6 folder within your plug-ins folder for you.At least it did with me. =)

Hope that helps

I'd love to be amazed but how do you get it to do anything? I've had it for awhile but nothing makes sense in it.

I will try to reinstall tomorrow...do I need to remove it from where it is now...which means I have to try and find it. I've forgotten where the default install goes.
