Download Notepad++ 6.1.2
http://notepad-plus-plus.org/download/v6.1.2.html
Open the file in the program and edit lines 7 and 8
Edit:
ACTIVE_DIR=r"C:\Documents and Settings\Marek\.gimp-2.8\brushes" #<<<-----SET ME<<<----- (Directory to hold active sets, select Writable in Preferences)
INSTALL_DIR=r"C:\Documents and Settings\Marek\.gimp-2.8\brushes_alternate"#<<<-----SET ME<<<----- (Directory where you place your sets - in subdirectories)
Type in your path:
ACTIVE_DIR=r"C:\Documents and Settings\Marek\.gimp-2.8 = r"C:\Documents and Settings\~Your Name~\.gimp~Your version~

The menu item is there in my brush file, but when I select the plugin menu doen't appear.

ACTIVE_DIR=r"F:\Gimp-2.8-32bit-Partha\pref_1\brushes"

INSTALL_DIR=r"F:\Resouces\brushes"

Are my paths correct

I'm using these plugins out of laziness - a very long time (2010).
I repeat - edit paths..

I have edited my paths to

ACTIVE_DIR=r"F:\Gimp-2.8-32bit-Partha\pref_1\brushes"
INSTALL_DIR=r"F:\Resouces\brushes"
Is there something I have missed

Duh I only missed this 'brushes_alternate' in my install directory, now works fine and is a great way to approach the resources problem. So good would you be able to do one for scripts :mrgreen:

For my master.

You have a choice:
1.The subdirectories
2. Pack (*. zip)

Do the resources for the script manager have to be in ZIP files.

This is pretty cool.
I like being able to choose just 2 maybe 3 scripts, and not a whole directory.Can one like scripts be written for brushes and patterns MareroQ?
I would definitely use them then. :)

Also can you just load 1-3 scripts at one time (not zipped) ?

A few questions/requests if you will.
1) Scripts load without loading entire directory
2) Same with all the other resources if possible.
3) Theme...how did you do it MareroQ? :) mine are all drab colored.Do they need to be placed directly in lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins folder for the theme to work?

Also both GURM and MrQ files seem to work side by side with no conflicts. :)

If you have more than one gimp e.g. 2.6 and 2.8 the one resources file only works per gimp and that means maintaining 2 lots of resources, I don't know if Gurn is the same.

ad 1 i 2 - In Python is probably not possible - only directories or zip.
ad. 3 - You must change the gtkrc on .gtkrc-2.0 and add the c: \ Documents and Settings \ Yur Name \

With gurn mutiple Gimp installs can use the same resource files without interacting but this does not work with the manager. Do you have more than one Gimp install.

What about Portable? That has no gtkrc-2.0 file. :)

Graechan are you talking to me?
I have just Gimp Portable installed in my F drive.

I have removed GURM altogether. Now i just use MareroQ's scripts. :bigthup
It's really too bad you can't just load a few scripts , brushes, or patterns that you need at the moment. Oh well.

@ MareroQ - So if i zip all my SCM scripts they will open 1 at a time?
Will that work for patterns and brushes too?

Most of the above is Windows based, so a quick test in a linux machine, LinuxMint Debian Edition and the plugin works fine, both with folders and with zip files. The zip option looks like a good deal to me. I have a large collection of "not used" scripts that I swap in and out manually as required, so a bit of work saved there.

I found a nice open src zip batch archiver.This will take all the scm in one folder and batch zip them with the same name in the same folder.Then you just need to move them to your manager folder. :)
I think i am going to go through all my patterns and probably zip them too.This way you can load 1 or however many of a resource you need at the time.
Download 7zip batch archiver here (windows)

MareroQ or Rod does anyone know why the manager using the same resouces will not work on a 2.6 and 2.8 install properly becouse when I select a brush pack in 2.6 then switch to 2.8 and open brush manager it shows the brush pack as selected but thehey are not loaded and they will not load unless I deselect and then open the manager again and reselect.
