I was able to call Ghost through Shellout, and a bat file,
@echo off
echo *** Do Not Close this Window ***
echo Temp File: %1
C:\Python26\python.exe  C:\PYTHON_SHELLOUT\ghost-diagrams-0.8.py %1

and in Shellout
  ["Ghost", "\"C:\\PYTHON_SHELLOUT\\ghost-diagrams.bat\"", "png"],

but Ghost doesn't open images it just creates them so if i send a blank white layer into Ghost and save the image it creates into the temp folder as ShellOutTempFile.png in my
C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Temp folder and close Ghost i get a blank white layer exported back to Gimp as the top layer.
Shouldn't the ShellOutTempFile.png file get overwritten with the image information created by Ghost?

Here's the python plugin that works in GIMP (don't remember who modified it for me to work but again thank them; to find the thread and then the entry I give in to my lazyness. lol). You have to have a defined GIMP layer or it won't run, but that doesn't effect it's final result. You also have to save your result then close ghost, but it will spiel a crash (ignore it; you can run this python script in GIMP multiple times and it doesn't effect GIMP). Worked great in 2.6.x but I've not tested it since I upgraded to 2.8 (nor will I; again, I like the xhtml version better) but for those that want the python plugin, it is attached (so no need for shellout). :)

I use both versions of Ghost Diagrams.

The GIMP-python version is nice because it has the cool knotwork lines, but you can only save the image as a png.

Image

I prefer the xhtml version because it creates an svg file that you can then play with. But it doesn't have the cool knotwork lines - it's knotwork is completely different and I rarely even look at it.

Image

Here is a section of a seamless version of the above patterns. I used the svg file to create the shapes, then overlaid the knotwork from the python version. It's a path based pattern, so it's infinitely scalable. :)

Thanks Lyle, already had it installed in 2.8 and it does work.I was trying to get it to draw and send back to 2.8.
Back to the drawing board.
I did save the website as a page and use it for svg saving. That works real well offline.

Man; you made me look up my thread for 6 years ago, Greg. lololol
