Hi all,

Does anyone here know or have a script to create concentric circles with Gimp?

If you only have a small number but mostly want accuracy in radius and center, use the shape-paths script (http://registry.gimp.org/node/59)

If you want a large number this is a whole other matter. Miracles are known to happen when there are rainy weekends in Paris.

Concentric rings can be created using the Blend Tool in radial mode along with the "hard-edge" gradient. I believe the FG-to-BG Hard-edge gradient is included by default in GIMP 2.8 but, if not, it is easy to create one using the Gradient Editor.

Here is a screenshot of the settings, along with the result:

on the topic linked by Molly there are details also on a RobA script (see his post) that was very handy for me to solve analogous problems ...well even more complex because i didn't wanted only concentric circles but also all sort of concentric polygons

Yes, RobA's Mosaic Helper script-fu is pretty good for doing this; just stroke the resulting path then crop the border. :)

oh to hypnotize better i would first duplicate and then start to offset slowly along a slowly expanding spiral and as soundtrack a old raga with embedded binaural beats...

i have no the animation but only 2 of the possible frames ...
