Artistic/Arrays and frames/ Frames [painting]... the very last slider is 'Serial Number', I can't see that it does anything. What does it do?

It appears to change the 3D contours of the frame.Image

Ah, I slid it around but didn't notice much effect but I've been feeling worse than usual and probably wasn't thinking straight. Thanks. I guess te term serial number threw me a curve.

It's an odd phrase for the effect. I had to experiment a bit to see it myself.

I just tried using this effect, and I like it. However, it seems my frames don't turn out right; the bottom section isn't mitred (spelling?) at the corners. Anyone have a clue as to why this might be happening?

@charly : are you using a beta version of 1.5.1.5. I've corrected a small bug very recently (just before releasing the stable version) which was related to this effect.

Ronounours,
Yes, I'm quite sure I only have the beta version (64bit). Is this latest version available as a 64bit plugin?
Thanks

Nevermind, I found it on Sourceforge. It now works.
Thanks, these filters are a LOT of fun to play with.

I just tried very nice
I see it call the gimp rgb color selector to chose the color, gimp has 2 different color selector widget, the other will allow to chose a
RGBA color , allowing semi transparency and so even more possible effect

that or in alternative a transparency slider would make more flexible , adding possible glassy effects

It would be good if the frame was kept as a seperate layer so that adjustments can be made.

Erisian, I've updated the filter, now you have the 'Frame as a new layer' option.
