You're going to persuade me to upgrade to 2.8 one day samj. That looks awesome!

I haven't got on with it so far - mainly because of the tool sliders. I find it almost impossible to make fine adjustments with them. I'll probably keep playing with it until I get used to it.

I've always been a big fan of this effect and made a few bushes a while back to be able to create it. I can't tell from the screenshots if the appearance of the circles can be altered in such a way as to have more of a gradient edge instead of the hard line around the outside.

Is this possible with your script? If not, it's still pretty darn cool! Thanks.

Nice samj; too lazy to re-translate to English myself though (to figure out all the settings; lol). Thanks for sharing. :)

Thank you samj. I also have some bokeh brushes, but this script should be handy also.

I have tried this script twice and both times it crashed. Looks like maybe I am the only one.

@molly

I'm sorry but I do not understand this problem.
My tests on Ubuntu 32-bit (Gimp 2.8.0 - Gimp 2.9.1) and Fedora 17 32-bit (Gimp 2.8.0) are good.
There may be a memory problem, you can do a test with a small image of 256 * 256 pixels ...

You're right; I was even too lazy to read to the end of each description. lololol

Again, I thank samj for another cool tool to create cool backgrounds. :)

I tried it 2 more times at a smaller size and it froze both times. I removed the scm from scripts, re-downloaded it and tried again, still grays out and just sits there. I have tons of memory so that isn't the problem. It is still sitting there right now (I enclosed the script if anyone wants to test it) thank you.

Molly,
Your script is corrupt. here's an example, it's all through the script.
Look for "Bokeh_Effect_By_Starlight86_Gimp_2_8 .scm".

Just took it over to the Windows side of my pc and it works fine there. Go figure

That is what I downloaded. I wonder how it can be corrupt when it works in Windows Gimp and not Fedora Gimp.

Here's another example. Yours doesn't like the french parts in the script. You could try a find and replace.

Does Gimp have an additional languages option on install and would this make any difference?

Ok, I downloaded samj's and left it worded the same without shortening it. I ran it, It looks like it worked cuz the blue bar at the bottom was saying it was, then it just stops and all the text goes gray as shown in my post above. I have done it now at least 8 times, it works in windoze but not here in fedora.
