I don't think this script actually works properly with Gimp 2.8.14.

[The problem is that the script generates the bokeh effect using a series of randomly-sized brushes which it generates in Gimp's clipboard; now, prior to version 2.8.12, Gimp would automatically use the "native" size of the brush (ie. its size in the clipboard), but in version 2.8.12 onwards, the brush size has to be set explicitly with a call to the new Gimp function "gimp-context-set-brush-size".]

If you try running this script in Gimp 2.8.14 you'll probably just get bokeh of a fixed size equal to the size of whatever brush you happen to have selected at the time to invoking the script.

Has anybody else found this? If so, we''ll have to contact samj and ask her to update the script.

@Dinasset:
Insert this code immediately after the call to "gimp-context-set-brush":
(if (defined? 'gimp-context-set-brush-size)
  (gimp-context-set-brush-size (+ 4 diametre_exterieur_bulle_a_creer_fonction))
)

You should find it works okay then.

@Dinasset @Jontait2 - I tried (for the first time) editing the script as you suggested. It failed with " Error: ( : 1) eval: unbound variable: diametre_exterieur_bulle_a_creer_fonction " :oops:

This is what my change looked like:

(gimp-context-set-brush (list-ref (cadr (gimp-brushes-get-list "")) 0)) ; set brush to clipboard (first in list)
(if (defined? 'gimp-context-set-brush-size) (gimp-context-set-brush-size (+ 4 diametre_exterieur_bulle_a_creer_fonction)))

Its been many, many years since I programmed anything but SQL - any assistance you could provide will be appreciated

@OMG
I can't actually see anything wrong with that.
I would upload a modified script but we don't really want any more "hacks" floating around in Gimpville .. if samj could update her script some time in the near future it would be better for everyone to wait for an official release.
In the meanwhile if you upload a copy of your modified script (that didin't work) I'll have a look at it and see if I can help.

@jontait2 - thanks; I deleted the modified script from GIMP but will make the changes against original again, try it out and if it fails, then I will post for your review as suggested.

EDIT - so if the code looks OK there must be another reason; the very old programmer in me started to emerge ... I had made and applied the changes in a new download of the script. It turns out that I already had another version of the script in place which I had apparently inserted last year!

So changes have now been applied to that original and all is well.

@jontait2 - thank you again for your offer of help

I downloaded this script. I unzipped the folder and put the script in the scripts folder.
I open up Gimp and the script is nowhere to be found. I' am using Gimp 2.8. Any help is appreciated here.
