I did too GMS; even applied it to outlines (not text). Definitely a cool and easily followable tut. :)

Thankyou very much for this Graechan.
But why is mine not turning out properly? I get these same results every time with the same values as yours. And it is not centered either. What am I doing wrong?

I seem to be having that same problem. When I choose rectangle I get a huge rounded one. I have no way to make it smaller and had to resize it. I set the font at the minimum 100 pixels and it was still huge.
Still an excellent script though.
Is it possible to add to the script the size you want?

The problem seems to be when typing a single line. The size of your image seems to depend on the size of your font and the size of your sentence. If you just used one short word, the circle or rectangle would be smaller and it would look better. Using two or three lines of text helps.

Thanks Graechan! :)
Works great in Gimp-2.8 Partha/SamJ Portable windows XP 32 bit.

The number of words in a single line do seem to control the height though.
Sort of an illusion as the font shrinks or enlarges to fit.

Barbie - I tried to duplicate your error and the only way I could do it was by adding a couple of empty lines below the text. Don't press enter after typing.

I believe Rod has a point. The old script would shrink the height into an Oval shape but the new version only does circles. :)

yes Lyle, I believe that is so.
I was checking out the earlier posts before Graechan modified it and they were able to make one line without all that space above and below the text.

Maybe that can be fixed on rel3  hint :pengy

EDIT: Hey Lyle, did you have to look that word up in able to spell it?

Erisian
I followed your instructions but got the same results... but it was centered on the left/right.

It seems that it must be a short word. Too many characters in a word causes the problem.

Chrome and silver look pretty much the same to me or am I wrong? Those are my favorites and I like Bronze a lot too.
I think that the Curvature of the corners should be adjustable in settings. If they are less curved then there would be less height.... making it more of a rectangular shape than a square shape.
► Also an oval shape option.
► Transparent background Option. And the colored background only appearing behind the grid and not outside of the grid borders.

Thanks again for the script Graechan!

This one following Erisian instructions:

This one changing the line spacing from 0 to 10 improves:

Just a guess Barbie, but Chrome and Silver will probably look the same with a white background. Maybe with a black or dark background, it might make a difference.
I would also like to see the background behind the mesh only, instead of extending beyond it. Is that possible Graechan?
