You need layerfx.py for this script to run correctly.

You can get Layerfx.py here - place it in your plug-ins folder.Restart Gimp.

This should work for Gimp-2.6 , but it's only been tested in Gimp-2.8
Please let me know.
I am working on another script for shredded text also.Hence the reason why this one says

The filter is located at - Script-Fu/Text Effects/Chiseled Steel in the menus.

You can also run shapes with this script.

A Times Roman font type face works real nice with the script.

Doh! I clicked the link from your thread. So, obviously I didn't see it.

Edit: It might just be me but I'm seeing images covering words. Otherwise, there are two gradient files in the zip.

Thanks Rod. Apparently it is. I just installed Chromium and it looks fine. Never had that problem before.

This is beautiful Rod. I like it best when the text is bold thick. It shows more of a 3d look with more shadowing.

I can't paint and don't have time to create all this beautiful text I see from so many on this site.
Would really really really love it if all of you with these gorgeous unique texts scripts from this site gather together ... and set up a text generator website.
Like these:

Develop them on Gimp and post them on your own Text Generator website for so many more to enjoy.
With many pretty fonts choices and sizes, cool backgrounds or transparent background, static or animated.
Metal, Wood, Glass, Leather, Marble, Velvet Text.
Put your names on it. Make money from advertising.
Call it something like "Classy Text Generator" or "Unique Text Generator" or something.
