I wish I could find a script that can take an alpha channel layer (a layer with visible pixels and invisible areas) duplicate and move it 1 pixel over horizontally then merge down. And do this as many times as specified or even a set number like 50 or 100. I want to be able to smear pixels across the canvas. It seems so easy, there must be something that someone knows of.

The way that the new GIMP 2.8 brushes work makes it imposible to make a brush and do this and still do it smoothly. You have to try to size the brush just right. And the brush needs to be hard edges too.

Am I misunderstanding your question but the smudge tool does this?

Have a look at,
Filters → Distorts → Shift

Or "Filters->Distort->Value Propagate".

I want to be able to draw a one pizel wide squiggly line and fill it with a gradient and smudge it. To smear it with the smear tool I would need to create a brush and make it just the right size (not an easy task in 2.8).

I'm familiar with those Distort Filters Mentioned above but they don't work well.

The Drawable-Multiplication.scm script is just what I need. It works great. Thanks b10h4z4rd !
