I asked if the creator might add a option in the script dialog to use current gradient colors, or tool colors.
That would be a fine addition to the script i think.

It's unfortunate it won't use the current gradient. Also, I'd really prefer that it ended up with an alpha channel. The layers are flattened.

Here's my attempt at plywood.

Wood Shop is a great tool, it would be nice if it had its own Gimp Plug-in. =)
This script is real nice for creating quick wood though.

Yes, I agree, that company has scandalously high prices and they're now very nice so I don't expect any changes in policy from them.

It looks like it is supposed to use the colors, but just doesn't. When I select the FG-BG gradient, it always selects black and white. I used it to create this image (using only the FG-BG Gradient).

I created 3 images (B&W) and composed them into a single, colorful image. I duplicated the layer, rotated the copy 90 degrees and set the mode to value.

Wow, Greg. I had no idea you could start out with 3 black and white layers and compose them (after changing image to grayscale). What a surprise.

Mine doesn't look much like your original image but I'm delighted with the outcome.

PS there is a alternative version now http://registry.gimp.org/files/sf-will- ... adient.scm
That allow to change gradient and colors

The other is still available (well is better for who want go straight to get realistic wood...the other give more options ,but with many options is easy get confused)

Thanks for the link PC; like using a custom gradient. A little texturizing and it does come pretty close to looking like wood. :)
