marjancek at the registry posted this cool python plugin. http://registry.gimp.org/node/27317

Usually, I try to coax Mathmap Droste to do these. Thought you folk may like this one too. :)

You have to put the python script in your GIMP Plugins directory AnMal; you also have to have Python installed which I believe in 2.8, they automatically do this for you (but I could be wrong). :)

AnMal, are you using Windoze or Linux? If you are using Linux, you have to make sure you click allow in permissions. If you are using Windows, they usually come with an .exe along with the .py file

i'm using windows (and i miss the days when i had a computer where i could run both opensuse and windows, that was perfection!) and no exe file along with the py as far as i can see.

sounds to me that it might be compiled for Linux if there is no exe did you look to see if there is one for windows?

sorry, I must have gotten ninj'd again. I looked at it and it is for Windows but at the bottom of the page it says Gimp-2.6 and you say you are using gimp-2.8. Sometimes they work in any version and sometimes not.

I haven't tried it, I think I will download it to see if it works in Fedora.

Edit: I downloaded it and tried it Lyle but I just got a full screen of yellow. Do I make a transparent layer or something

Took my pic that I posted here and had some fun with this cool python script and also blended in some Mathmap droste (and other enhancements) in the background (and yes, it's seamless). :)

It works for me with Gimp 2.8 on Win7 x64.
Would you care to explain what steps you followed and what didn't work?

Extracted my flower, ran the fibonacci (golden ratio) plugin twice, dupped that result and ran Mathmap Droste on the backgraound image with warp option (both x and y). :)
