Well it's been Wet and cold again so I spent some time working with a new plugin called Calendar Generator.This plugin can be quite frustrating at first so I thought I would share what I had learnt about it.
It was posted on the registry by Humcio a Polish national whose English is not so good, but his plugin is excellent.
Please go to registry on this link http://registry.gimp.org/node/27477 to download the files required for your operating system. I am including here some additional files for names and Style that may help
names_gimpchat.txt should be placed in your CalendarGenerator Folder
STYL_gimpchat in your CalendarGenerator-ENG-STYLE_0 Folder
install the Plugin and folders in Gimp 2.8 as shown

Image

Then go to preferences and enter the location of the CalendarGenerator-32bits folder in your Folders>plugins section. Now restart gimp and go to Filters>Render>CalendarGenerator and start.
On the Basic setup tab select Load style and load the STYL_gimpchat file
Then go to the rendering section and load the names_gimpchat.txt file your diplay window should resemble mine now.

Please read through the post on the registry and the pdf file there.

here is the finished calendar for the month of September

Please note! that I did not mention the 64bit version or gimp 2.6 above in my original post as the 64bit version did not work on my 64bit gimps but the 32bit one did, also the 32bit version was a no go in 2.6 so I am hoping someone like Rod or Samj can resolve as I am not smart enough. In the meantime use the 32bit version in your gimp 2.8 64bit.

Bonjour,

@Graechan
The 64-bit version of the plug-in works on Gimp 2.8.2 64-bit / Windows 7 (CalendarGenerator-ENG-64bit_0.zip)

Thanks Samj but do you know why it doesn't work on 2.8.0.
