Hey, guys!

I am having a heck of a time getting the Resynthesizer plugin installed. On the gimp registry site, I downloaded the file and extracted it via 7zip. When I open the file, I get these .py files. I put them in my .py folder and try to run it.

It gives me this error:

Can anyone give me some help?

I am using Gimp 2.8 and have a Windows computer...thanks!

I have all these same plug-ins in my Plug-Ins folder in .gimp-2.8 You mentioned that you had them in a .py folder, did you mean your plug-in?

RobA post below

If you have resynthesizer grab my Resynth along path script below in attachments.

Create a path (multiple sections OK) then run the script by right-clicking on the path and selecting "Resynth Along Path..."
The first parameter is the width of "stroke" and the second is the bordering region to sample for source texture.

I've tested it by creating a path, stroking it with a line on an image, then running the script against the same path. It should also respect selections limiting the path.

Thanks for responding, Molly.

Yes, sorry, I did mean the plugin folder. I put them in the folder:

C:\Users\myuser\.gimp-2.8\plug-ins

Is this right?

I am actually getting a new error:

Thanks for helping me out here. I always appreciate the helpful attitude everyone on this forum has!

Hi, mariawendt

Download it here http://www.aljacom.com/~gimp/resynthesizer-0.16b-32bits-64bits.zip

Follow the instructions in readme file to the letter, copy either 32- or 64-bit version of plugin (depending on your computer architecture).
Keep in mind that 64-bit version is for 64-bit Windows and GIMP only.

@mariawendt

That is one to go for. To help someone out I did test installations in Win7 32bit and found registry.gimp.org a labyrinth of old links.
Finally got to the samj packages which worked.

4 minutes on installing http://youtu.be/_hC1DVhynG0

might help.
