The Indicator Light tutorial has been made into a script that can be found under File>Create>Metal Wurx>Indicator Lights.

Image

Here is a screenshot showing some of the selections available such as Bezel Style, Bezel Color, Lens Color and a choice for Illuminated (ON) or OFF.

The Script interface includes four language choices to make it more internationally friendly. English, French, German and Spanish. I have included versions for 2.6 and 2.8 for the convenience of die hard individuals like me who still like to use 2.6.

Each file contains the script, the required Gradients and Patterns, plus a README file which I strongly suggest that you read and pay particular attention to the instructions and dependencies.

Hi, Draconian!
It must be a great script, because I've seen all your Metal Wurx tutorials and admire your creativity.
I'm pretty sure there is something I do wrong. Can you, please, elaborate on this one?
If I understood correctly I just need to run the script, no new image has to be created, pretty much like
creating new logos, right?
I can see new gradients and patterns inside the selection dialogues. But when I run the script, it start working and then aborts with this error message. Image

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you

K1TE

P.S. the script i'm using is 2.8 and GIMP is 2.8.2

Did you read the README file and install the gradients and patterns per the instructions? You also have to have the scale-pattern script installed. It's one of the dependencies.

Oops, my mistake! Yes, I read it all, and gradients and patterns are in place. I knew I had scale-pattern script installed before but, for some reason, I placed in inactive folder in .gimp-2.8/scripts the other day, LOL. Fixed now.

Thanks a lot, Draconian!
Script is great!

Thanks. Glad you got it working. Now show me what you did with it.

Kit - it is definitely sweet and easy. IMHO the effort was worth the results. I think I would slow down the animation a bit tho. Wouldn't want to cause anyone to have a seizure. :rofl

Thanks Odin.

Erisian - I was waiting for you to discover the post. I knew you would like it. You're welcome but there's another 'surprise' for you on the horizon so stay tuned to the Draconian channel.

AnMal - At least now you can turn the lights on in the kingdom now. :)

Thanks Odin.

I have slowed it down at you request, D!
I'm only uploading it here cos it's only 45 KB in size.
Hope O and Tux won't be mad at me for taking up too much of the server resource.

Did you forget to "save as animation"? I don't see anything but a static image.

Ahhh, wait, there it is.....much better!

There's a lot of bigger stuff in the upload site than that. The only thing we don't want is for people to embed our images on another website and I think GnuTux has made that impossible.

Feel free to upload images in Gimp Chat almost regardless of size, 5gb is the maximum size. Our upload site is for every member's use.
