Metal Wurx Control Knob Script

Based on my Metal Wurx - Part XVII tutorial for creating a metallic control knob.

Image

The script can be found under File>Create>Metal Wurx>Control Knobs right above the Metal Wurx Indicator Light script.

The interface controls are in four languages - English, French, German & Spanish to be more internationally friendly.
It provides the choice between a Plain or Ribbed bezel and a choice of 8 Metallic colors. You may also choose to have
up to 12 markings in either black or red or no markings at all. All layers are saved so that by tweaking a few layers
you can create a multitude of metallic color combinations and also save the knobs with or without the drop shadow

The resources folders are included in the attached zip files below along with the scripts and a README file.

***IMPORTANT!***

Be sure to review the README file regarding dependencies in order for the script to work properly.

draconian: well done!!! you've really been working hard :). i've promised myself not to use the scripts without trying the tutorials, though, so it will take some time before i get to play with them.
yafu: i agree with molly that your result was very creative, good job!
mike: that looks like it means business :).

Thanks everyone! I posted this yesterday evening and just woke up to find some really cool looking creations. :mcof

Yafu - Your 'knob-face' looks like something out of the X files. Really like it! I did not write either of the Metal Wurx scripts. Did you see the one I posted last week for the Indicator Lights? It sort of got buried and slid right off the board really quick so it was only up about 1 day. I stated that I only collaborated and offered technical assistance and testing for the scripts. I only know how to make minor edits. 'Get', 'Car' and 'Let' still have me confused.

I would love to learn how to write scripts but I have yet to find anyone that can explain things in Readers Digest plain language terms instead of 'scheme-speak'. I agree with you regarding the languages. That was an added bonus IMO. I am so grateful to the individual that wrote them for me who shall remain nameless.

Glad everyone liked the scripts even though they are more for a specific niche than something more universally useful like a text effect or those great Speech Bubble scripts Graechan did. Way to go Graechan!

Mike - Maybe I'm just too sleepy right now but I'm not sure what you meant by 'eleven'. Reminds me of my electric guitar playing days and the control knobs for volume, tone, reverb, etc. Cool application although a bit big for that guitar. Guess you couldn't see the knobs very well otherwise.

It's a take-off on a movie called "Spinal Tap." You'd have to have seen the movie to understand the reference. The over-sized knobs and the "this one goes to eleven" reference are specific to the character in the image, Nigel Tufnel.

Thank you all for the compliments!

@Draconian: Ok, so thanks to "Anonymous" for the scripts and also thank you for the tutorial series "Metal Wurx" that were helpful to achieve the scripts !
My intention is also one day learn how to write scripts for GIMP.
Regards.
