A simple script created using some of the procedures from the Christmas candy tute, and the results aren't to shabby now with an assist from the king of curves Draconian

; Rel 0.02 - Added alpha script
; Rel 0.03 - Added extra background choices to both scripts, also made drop shadow an option
; Rel 0.04 - Bugfix to smooth text

Graechan - Must congratulate you on a really nice script but can I ask is there any chance of a version that can work on any selection rather than just text.

Looks pretty cool Graechan. Could this Script-fu be made to allow for objects on transparent layers to get this treatment? :)

Excellent script and while I've been playing with it reminded me of something, so had a quick go at throwing something together, the pencil is my design but the paint tubes came from here clker.com

Graechan, would it be possible to modify the script so that you dont end up with all the layers merged down ?
its always nice to use the script and later do something with the text effect

Esper - there is a check box on the script to keep layers.

Looks great Graechan! I applied a blur of 3 to the Reflection 3 layer, and a blur of 10 to the Reflection layer 1. I grew a selection on the Reflection 2 layer, filled it then blurred it 10 as well. Lastly, locked the alpha on the base layer and applied a blur of about 5 to smooth out the artifacts from the bump mapping. (something I always do with deep bump maps) I also ramped up the Reflection 1 layer to 50 % Opacity.

Just my personal preference. Glossy Stroke or your Image Shine seem to look better with a hard edge to the highlights. Bigger ones like this, IMO, look better blurred slightly. Your thoughts?

ooooooooo! Graechan, check this out. If it had an option to apply a curve to the base layer, you could make it look like colored glass. (maybe a smoother curve?)

Another option for no color and you have yourself some instant Chrome!

Really cool option suggestions, Drac!

I messed around with making candy with it. Used a displaced diagonal stripe to do it.
