The fur in this script is created using gimpressionist, a number of settings are incldeded to help you get the result you are looking for.

The menu's can be found under Script-Fu/Alpha-to-Logo/Fur and Script-Fu/Logos/Fur

images below are done with default settings

(I might enter my bear in great-grand-daughters pre-skool competition) :rofl

Image

Image

; Rel 0.02 - Changed text in gimpressionist to "Furry" instead of "furry"

; Rel 0.03 - Added option to use the existing colors and a softness setting

; Rel 0.03.3 - bugfix

; Rel 0.04 - improved the output image appearance

download the REL 4 script below↓

Thanks Graechan. 2 passes of the Script-fu second result on top set to lighten followed by G'MIC anisotrophic (fake smudge) and an Enhance Detail Script-fu. :)

do you have the preset Furry in your share\gimp\2.0\gimpressionist\Presets folder or your pref_1\gimpressionist\Presets folder

It is a default gimpressionist preset so I did not post it

For the call to gimpressionist to fail, I can not think of any other reason as it functions without fail in Windoze 7 gimp 2.8.2 and whatever Lyle is using,

I hope its not a Linux problem :geeking

The "furry" in the script is all lowercase, the "Furry" in the folder on my machine is capitalized. Could that make a difference?

used Multi-fill script (and image) from RobA to exclude or include certain areas

Bonjour,

@Graechan

replace
(plug-in-gimpressionist 1 image fur-layer "furry")

by
(plug-in-gimpressionist 1 image fur-layer "Furry")

tested on OpenSUSE (case sensitive)
