Interesting script, samj!

I used an (rgb) picture of black and white piano keys with, the only noticeable color, a thin red line along the top of the keys. All the 8-color script settings were default. In the new image I hid the black layer and duplicated the 8-colors layer. Duplicate layer was set to Saturation, original to Dodge both 100% opacity.

Bonne nuit Samj:

I was playing a bit with the script.

I set the output layers as follow:

calque_8_couleurs → grain merge & 50 % opacity
calque fond → color & 30 % opacity

after I created a New from visible layer, and I've applied Unsharped mask (default values, I think).

Finishing, Hue and saturation:
Hue: - 9
Luminosity: - 6
Saturation: - 34

Here is a test, an image created using this script-fu.

For the texture there is a tutorial of 2000-2001 :
http://gug.criticalhit.dk/tutorials/ronq1/

You can apply on the image or create a pattern.

This should work on almost all images using the default script-fu parameters.

# Esper:
Thanks, I'm glad you like the effect.

# Samj:
Bonsoir,

Could the script had the option to choose a color first and then develop the tones.

I tested with a nude model on black background with blues and I liked the results enough.

This is because I'm a little crazy with the Dave Hill and Jill Greenberg's effects and want to find a method that does not involve brushwork to the idea that anyone can create a script or plug-in.

@Jamac4k
I'll make another script that save 8 selections converted to paths. The user can do what he wants with these paths:
- Draw paths
- Re-converted into selections and fill colors, patterns.

I will write the script-fu tomorrow.

@Jamac4k

The script is created (save 8 selections converted to paths).

The result is nice :paint

I'll definitely modify the script on the selections :
- Store the selections and paths.
- Choose an option "Soften" for each path.
- Set the pre-treatments.
- Choose the number of selections (1 to 8)

I will make another topic for the new script.
