Rod image Beveler is a bevel script I've created over the years to use when following tutorials that call selection bevel v2.1 or layer effects bevel and emboss

It does not require a selection and can accomplish everything the others do for inner or outer bevel, it does not emboss 'yet' but I'll add when needed

some outer bevel results

Image

same with gloss set to 10

Image

the script is on the initial post

Only beveller I have (I think) is an 'add bevel' not an 'image beveller'.
I cannot get this script to work around text. It does around whole images but that is all. Help!

Sallyanne 'add bevel' is a very old default script that does not work well

So should I delete it?

Where should I be looking once the new script is in? I have an image bevel in filters>decor>

Oh and if you think I should I can delete the lot and add the new one again

No! Sallyanne never delete any default files, you may not use them but other scripts may

It may not work well but it does work see image below↓

Graechan, your image beveler doesn't work for me. I tried it 4 times, with and without a selection. It goes through the motions and looks like it is working, then it goes flat, it also splits the letters.

I haven't deleted anything that is default and I didn't think you should.
I haven't downloaded another image bevel before either.

Can you tell me how to get the bevel around text and not the entire image with this script?

If you have just the text on a separate layer you can right click that layer and select alpha to selection.
Then run the bevel-er script with the settings you want.

Think I finally have it. Thank you for your patience.
Need more time to do anything that is any good though and am too tired now.

:ditto

It makes my letters thinner but there's no beveling. It makes a new layer named inner bevel but there's nothing in it.

Thanks for the feed back. Molly and I are using Fedora Linux OS. May be something to do with Fedora's version of gimp.
