No. I extracted it from the zip file. Molly gets the same error message.

maybe notepad plus may spot the error
i may check my local copy

PS then you may easily get another error message :
remember that to use the scripts you must install also the gimpesppressionist preset (are in the zip)

I closed gimp before I installed your script, Rod. I deleted the one I had in the scripts folder. I put your script in there, started GIMP.

The filter seems to work just fine but when I go to Filters > Script-Fu > Refresh scripts, I get the same error message.

Have you tried refreshing your scripts? Just to see if you get the same error message?

yeah i actually placed the scripts from my 2.0 folder in my portable scripts folder so they refreshed right away...no problems so far.

Chrome filter works so i assume the rest do. =)

So this problem is occurring only with the Portable Apps version of GIMP? (I'd heard that the Portable Apps launcher had problems with handling unicode but I wouldn't've thought that should affect Script-fu.)

You might try substituting the following block of code for the similar section which contains comments:

No what i meant was i had transferred a bunch of new scripts from the reg 2.6.11 version to my portable version 2.6.11 and those scripts that O had a problem with worked fine in the portable version, but after checking them all, i do get errors in a few of them.Not sure why.
