I am glad that the "new forces" have made further attempts to repair.
1- When one plug maintainer is missing, however, it does get messy.
In 2018 TT released plug 3.0 (but not here, with one fix because it was enough).
It wasn't until 2020 that I introduced version 2.4. (over 60 corrections mainly related to old procedures).
The Vitforlinux version is a patch to version 3.0 (but the old procedures remain - because they still work).
In order for it to work in GIMP-2.99, in addition to the fixes from 2.4, you need to add 40 more - and the result is not very good for most settings.
So a question for Vitforlinux:
Will you undertake the slimming of Logo-Toolbox (elimination of malfunctioning options) ???
@MareroQ 1- I can't agree more.
Thanks a lot MareroQ for your answer, the history, and examples, which IMHO are very important, I very much appreciated your answer and clear explanations!
Now I know that's
not the same script.
@Krikor Thanks a lot for your input

even though as a "user" I should not have to do that...

I very much appreciated your tip, again thank you very much Krikor
In case it can help scriptwriters...
On the MareroQ's attachment G-2.10.28.png (not working), you shall not need the GIMP 2.8 plugin.
What I see is a typical size problem between the map and the text layer or because the map and the layer to be mapped are not at the same size (thus coordinates are different), this seems to have appeared in GIMP 2.10 (but seriously it's too long I'm on 2.10 to recall 2.8 behavior)
Solution: if from the start everything would be set at "layer to image size" the mapping will work or when you "Create" your text, immediately after > lose text info >
Layer to image size > the same for the map > then now you can select, map it, whatever it, without the map be partial on the text
