GnuTux do you remember that Wisps was created thanks to a little experimentation by you on the pencil shade script

I cannot stop playing with wisps and LNGT .. Graechan and GnuTux, many plaudits for your creativity which helps others exercise theirs. The effects of wisping and overlaying the originals can be quite stunning; well in my opinion anyway! Check out this Russian Orthodox church from St Petersburg.

And one from Helsinki - sepia!

Yes. I believe I did have the idea to use the output of the your pencil shade script as input into G'MIC dream smoothing. Dream smoothing works nicely on lines and your pencil script reduced images to lines, so it was the perfect match. :hehe

A few more results..

Original

Wisps

Wisps + G'MIC Crayon Graffiti

Combined back with original, layer mode tweaked with colors

Then finally, with Rodilus.

This is another one especially for Graechan - my David Austin roses are blooming bissfully right now - so I wisped one but gave it a split personality!

Graechan my garden is still producing even though I am 'neglecting' it - the orange kangaroopaw are starting to shoot skywards so I wisped them.

First week of summer so more flowers/trees are blossoming - here is a 'wisped' version of a photo I took this morning of my orange corymbia (name change from eucalypt - I still the old prefer flowering gum term).

Graechan many Aussie plants lend themselves to your 'wisping' script!

I thought it also deserved an orange version of one of your frames.

Today I came across a few old files containing some of my flower close ups on which I had used Graechan's 'wisps' script, a few months back. I was not sure what to do with them at the time. But today I was learning about layer modes, so I decided to use the wisped images as blending layers over the originals.

As usual I was staggered at the results that can be achieved by GIMP in this way ...

Missed this one when you first posted it.
I downloaded your rel7 and tried it on my red flower.
Unfortunately it stopped short of the finish.
For me it stops at this
Image
Using overlay in the layer modes I got this

So will it continue after these error messages? I thought that may have been it.
I am patient but it tells me something is unable to run.
I just ran DS on the flower by itself and that ran.

Nice to see you again, Graechan. I hope you are well. Thanks for the update! :tyspin

Hi Sallyanne, there appears to be an incompatibility between
G'MIC from within a script & Script-Fu Scrolling Interface V1.1, when using GIMP 2.10.x. - Considering Scrolling Interface V1.1 is 6 years old, I'm sure it needs updating, regardless.

You can check that out by removing script-fu from /plug-ins/ and test "Wisps", to determine if that is the problem.
