Before using script make sure the DingBat license allows (most will)
Images below↓created by keeping the layers and saving as Gif animations
Image
Image
In the menu select a dingbat font and select the size and by default it will select all the capitol letters but you can also elect to deselect Capitols and include lower case, numerals, and control characters in the Image hose but most dingbats usually only make use of the capitals for images.
From Rel3 you also have the option to save the selected D'bat images as .gbr brushes to your brushes folder or a folder of your choice
The last option will allow you to keep the image and layers, otherwise they are deleted
When the script finishes a message will inform you where your new .gih brush has been saved
Image
Menu Locations are Script-Fu/Brushes/Font to Image Hose and <Fonts>/

; Rel 0.02 - Added toggle control for Capitols and included Bugfixes

; Rel 0.03 - Added option to also save the layers as .gbr brushes

; Rel 0.04↓ - added ability to use active font and added menu location to <Fonts>/
'Works OK on 2.10 :bigthup '

Graechan, It looks interesting but I'm not sure what it does.
Can you add a brief explanation for my scrambled mind?

Odin it does as it says
in the menu select a dingbat font and select the size and by default it will select all the capitol letters but you can also elect to include lower case, numerals, and control characters in the Image hose but most dingbats usually only make use of the capitals for images.
the last option will allow you to keep the image and layers, otherwise they are deleted

Graechan, do you know how can I access the symbols at the wingdings fonts?
OS: Windows XP
GIMP 2.8.4
When I am in the software Word and I choose the font Wingdings I have the symbols but not when I type in GIMP. In GIMP I have only the alphabetic characters.

Thanks Odin and Erisian. There's also another font made by the same person called Mr. Robo Funk. I've also attached it. I did both upper and lower cases in the animation.
