Does gimp have a plugin that can help you create collages?

You're welcome jeanniem, just thought you might gain some insight into this king of creative endeavor.

While not a collage plug-in, the following technique uses an image hose brush to easily paint up to 100 different images on your canvas and might be useful for creating collages.

• "File->Open As Layers" all of your collage images (use the SHIFT and/or CTRL keys while clicking on the filenames to select more than one file).
• Open the "File->Save As" dialog and navigate to your user's 'brushes' folder (you can find the location of this folder in the Edit->Preferences dialog, if necessary). Name your file "collage.gih" or somesuch (the extension must be .gih).
• After clicking on "OK", a new dialog will appear (see attached screenshot). Change the "Number of cells" entry and the "Ranks" numeric entry both to the number of layers in your image. You can adjust the "Spacing" parameter to specify the amount of overlap (100% == no overlap). Change the step mode from "Random" to "Incremental" if you want to step through the images one-by-one as you place them. Click on the "Save" button.
• Refresh your brushes and select your new collage brush as the active brush.
• Activate the Paintbrush Tool and paint on your canvas. Each time you click, one of the images will be randomly chosen and drawn on the layer. If you drag the mouse than random images will be drawn, spaced along the path using the amount of overlap you have specified
