Just noticed that MLReflect doesn't even show up in Filters/Map/ML Bevel Reflect.

I guess you can't run the plugin from Filters/Map/ML Bevel Reflect, either. Right?

I'm not sure what the problem might be, but perhaps you're going to have to find another .exe or figure out what's up with that .dll file. I'm assuming that you have that DLL and it's used for lots of things in GIMP.

That 32bit exe was compiled by MasterQ and came from here..
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=9435#p122655

There is another 32bit exe here..

No it doesn't show up there. I downloaded it from both places, with the same result. (32)

When I place the 64 in the plug ins folder, and fire up GIMP, it doesn't hesitate to fire up, but as you say, doesn't show up where it's supposed to.

Warrior, I split your posts from the logo thread and placed them here, because the problem you're having is not related to the bevel reflect logo script. Perhaps someone who is running this plug-in in Windows will know how to fix the problem you're having.

Have you tried both the 64bt and 32bit versions of the plug-in?

2.6.11

I just tried the 32 bit version, which is what my pc is.

Hey Warrior!

1. Official GIMP 2.6.11 comes only as 32-bit, first 64-bit version was introduced in 2.8.0 onward
2. MLBevelReflect doesn't work in 2.6.x

You can install portable 2.8 on your PC.

I did not know that. I assumed it worked 2.6.x.

I coded the Logo script to be compatible with GIMP 2,.6.x.

Guess I need to update the Logo script and docs to remove the claim of compatibility with GIMP 2.6.x. :hehe

Thanks Gnu, appreciate it.

I have 2.8, just don't use it. Hard to teach an old dog new tricks I guess. Thanks just the same, appreciate it.

Before you do, let me double check on this, OK?

P.S. Not working in 2.6.11 under Windows, the author seems to have never tested it outside 2.8.
Can't confirm 2.6.11 on Linux (not a Linux user), but I'm afraid it's no different.

ML Bevel Reflect would not compile under Fedora14 32bit. It complained about gtk_box_new, same error as The Warrior had. I'd hazard to guess that all the newer Linux distributions that will compile ML Bevel Reflect come with GIMP 2.8.x, so I've went ahead and updated all the documentation to state that the Bevel Reflect Logo script requires GIMP 2.8.x.

Thanks for the heads up on that. :bigthup

No problem Tux.
You might want to do the same for ML Bevel Reflect plugin on GimpScript.com.

Pretty cool K1. Used my 2.8 version. From a random map I made:

It does compile on Mint 13 (and thus assumedly also on buntu 12.04), even though those distros still ship 2.6. I'd guess it's an issue with the GTK version more than GIMP itself.

@dd -After you got it to compile on Mint (32bit I assume), did it work with GIMP 2.6.x?

Try to compile in Ubuntu Studio 13.04. Get this:

~/Downloads/MLBevelReflect-master$ make
cc -O3 -Wall -pthread -I/usr/include/gtk-2.0 -I/usr/include/gdk-pixbuf-2.0 -I/usr/include/cairo -I/usr/include/libpng12 -I/usr/include/glib-2.0 -I/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/glib-2.0/include -I/usr/include/pixman-1 -I/usr/include/freetype2 -I/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/gtk-2.0/include -I/usr/include/atk-1.0 -I/usr/include/pango-1.0 -I/usr/include/gio-unix-2.0/ -I/usr/include/harfbuzz -I/usr/include/gimp-2.0 -o MLBevelReflect MLBevelReflect.o -lgimpui-2.0 -lgimpwidgets-2.0 -lgimpmodule-2.0 -lgimp-2.0 -lgimpmath-2.0 -lgimpconfig-2.0 -lgimpcolor-2.0 -lgimpbase-2.0 -lgtk-x11-2.0 -lgdk-x11-2.0 -latk-1.0 -lgio-2.0 -lpangoft2-1.0 -lpangocairo-1.0 -lgdk_pixbuf-2.0 -lcairo -lpango-1.0 -lfreetype -lfontconfig -lgobject-2.0 -lglib-2.0
/usr/bin/ld: MLBevelReflect.o: undefined reference to symbol 'atan2@@GLIBC_2.0'
/usr/bin/ld: note: 'atan2@@GLIBC_2.0' is defined in DSO /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libm.so.6 so try adding it to the linker command line
/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libm.so.6: could not read symbols: Invalid operation

Some flaw in code that prevents compilation of 32-bit binary under linux?
I'm a total stranger to C code. Need to ask the author of plugin.

That is a very classically vague Windows message, which makes it hard to tell what the problem is.

Didn't you say you were using Windows 7 64bit?

What version of GIMP?

1) Remove all current files named MLBevelReflect.exe from the plug-ins folder
2) Copy over the Windows 64bit file: MLBevelReflect.exe to your plug-ins folder
3) Close GIMP
4) Click the "Start | Program Files | Accessories | Command Prompt" to open a Command Prompt
5) Type: gimp --verbose (press enter)

Copy and paste output back to here so we can take a look. It might tell us something.
