Gimp: 2.8.10
OS: Windows XP 32 bits

I installed Bevel Reflect Logo V1.5 script. Before I installed the plugin MLBevelReflect.exe. I restarted GIMP. I requested the Bevel script Reflect Logo. A window was open. I clicked OK. I got the error message. With the previous version, everything was working fine.
I found the solution. The plugin MLBevelReflect.exe was in a subfolder inside the plugin's folder.

Carlos,

You need ML Bevel Reflect V2.0 to be able to run V1.5 of the Logo script. You can grab the new version here.

Overwrite the old version in your plug-ins folder, restart GIMP and you should be good to go.

Hi,

I am not seeing how this even compares with the PS layer effects. The manner in which the Bevel Reflect Logo script achieve the same effects as in PS is so easy and superior.

Thank you GnuTux and stay well.

We don't have a compiled binary for MAC yet, but I did contact Partha, who is looking into it. Unless there are unforeseen issues, I'm sure Partha can provide us a MAC plug-in.

These two scripts are excellent work Tux but just been having a play around a found that if I set the flat slope depth to anything higher than 10, I start getting transparent areas within the text. This is really just a very minor issue but thought you would like to know.

I am running Ubuntu.

THanks GnuTux, I will keep a lookout for it in case he does get around to it.
BTW, what is the earliest version of Gimp that the bevel reflect programs work with? I might be able to wrestle the PC away from hubby…who is always on it reading via Kindle app. I could install it all there and at least be able to use it occasionally.

As it stands now, both the script and plug-in require GIMP 2.8.x or higher.

Yes. In most cases, 10.5 seems to be the upper limit before it starts tossing out parts of the image. There were a few instances, depending on the text/image, where 10.5 produced usable results, so I just left it there.

Thanks for the reply Tux and thanks for the scripts.

I had this happen two or 3 times last week before the new versions yesterday with this one font. I haven't tried it yet with the new script.
The text was all full of holes when I tried it with Bevel Reflect Logo. I was blaming it on the font which I still think is the case.
It is posted below if anyone wants to try it.

Using a gradient that contains transparency, to generate the emap, can also cause this problem.

I just added the newer version of ML Bevel Reflect and now I don't have script-fu's in my top menu or file> create > any type of logo let alone gimpchat logos.

EDIT: Looks like they are back. I refreshed before and also closed and reopened gimp.

That font is beautiful the way you all work with it, it really does look like jewelry.
