The first one Marcello used looks more like DejaVu Sans Bold to me.

The one I used is Chumbly BRK @ 315px. I used Round2 Bevel at a depth of 10-12. That should produce the results you're looking for with Marcello's emap.

Once a side note, contour curves need a contour depth > 0 for them to have any effect on the final image. A Wide Ring curve would look something like this, depending on the depth you choose.

Looks good, Sallyanne.

That one looks nice, Molly. It appears you still have some issues with ragged edges. Did you use the 4 pixel select & shrink stroke method I mentioned?

yes I did, I made the text, then duped it and shrunk the duped layer 4 pixels, ran the script on the original layer, was that the wrong way?

You actually don't need to dupe anything. Just follow the 4 steps listed here.

Okay, I did it again EXACTLY the way it says and to me it still looks pixelated. I notice on my black text, it starts off a little ragged. I got it from dafont. I enclosed my xcf if anyone wants to take a look at the original layer.

I feel left in the dust here, with all these beautiful text effects, as I cannot do Bevel Reflect without a script for script-fu scrolling for a mac, sigh.

I checked out the text layer in your xcf and anti-aliasing was turned off. That is why the edges were a bit ragged starting off.

Unless there is some specific reason to not use anti-aliasing, it should always be left on for better results.

Thanks Tux, I never turn it off, it must happened by accident. I thought maybe I had a faulty font. I will do another one tomorrow . I am relieved to know it is something simple. :pengy :jumpclap

How is it now. Funny how that antialiasing got turned off but it sure did the trick Thanks Tux for noticing that little square.

@Sallyanne - I think you got those results by using contour curves, which can increase the results to a size larger than that of the original text/image, which means the stroke method mentioned previously cannot be used .
