Great map, Marcello & nice results, Warrior. :2thup

I darkened the map a little by boosting the contrast, then softened the specular highlight.

First of all thank to everybody for the nice words about the map!
I have a question for GnuTux - you wrote
"then softened the specular highlight"
As I'm a beginner I dont know what exactly means

I was referring to the round white light reflection in the middle of your map, which becomes highlights when mapped. I softened that a little by decreasing the brightness. The way you have it is perfectly fine but I want a little less of a bright highlight in my result.

I see the first word is Gimp, but what's the second word?
BTW, what emap did you use for this text image?

This. It's a Cadillac font, to look like a car emblem.

Oh...
Sometimes putting 2&2 together doesn't always add up to 4, at least for me anyway. :hehe

Hey, I am absolutely new in using plug-ins etc. (this is the first script I downloaded)
If i use the Alpha-to-Logo Bevel Reflect Logo to create a sphere, it ignores the gradient I chose. For example when I take gradient (FG to BG) green to red, the resulting sphere is white and red...
I don't get it.

In order for it to work correctly, you need to install the ml bevel reflect logo too.

Download here.

Well, I don't get it either and I wrote the script.

You should not be getting those colors in the generated sphere. The code used in BRL is taken directly from my Enviromap Script, which works properly when selecting FG-->BG as the gradient.

Clearly, there is a bug in BRL that's causing this problem. Since my computer is now back up and running, I'll be able to take a look at the issue and will post a fix later tonight or tomorrow.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. :bigthup

You are right. When I ran BRL using my selected FG & BG colors, the FG color was ignored/turned white.
I've never ran BRL using this method. When I wanted to use a gradient, I chose one that was installed rather than using the selected FG & BG colors.
That's an interesting find.

Yep. It's kinda surprising that after all this time, no one had noticed that bug. :hehe

It's fixed now. BRL updated to V1.6. :bigthup

And I just thought that I'm to stupid to get it :D

Works now, thanks :)

Oh, just another question:

On some spheres I use, the resulting logo is partially transparent, like this:

I used this sphere:

I'm pretty sure I did something wrong on this. :D
Sorry, can't post URLs, because I'm new...
