@Tux... Is there anyway NONE could be added to the drop down in the Spherical emap in BRL? I like to use the gradient option sometimes in the same project and also the emap option. I have to close Gimp in order to go back and forth. I don't know if it it possible but it would be cool.

You can use the "Reset" to switch for using e-maps and gradients.

The script does need to be updated because clicking "Reset" not only clears your map selection, but it also resets all of the other options back to their default values. It would be handy to be able to switch back & forth between an external map and generating one from a gradient, without resetting all of the script's options. :bigthup

Thank you Tux. I spend so much time in that particular script, it would be nice to switch back and forth without losing every thing.

I have played a bit with this, and am confuzzeled as to how to get the colors I want. When I run the script (not the create) it always comes out bright blues and I have to recolor. Is that right or am I missing something?

* I am finding out how much I don't know, lol. I totally need a help booklet for using this script!!!

That always comes out bright blue because of the default gradient on the first dialog of the script. If you change the gradient to colors you want, it will come out some other bright color. If you want to make a FG andBG (RGB) gradient, make the FG & BG colors you want, click the gradient choice and scroll up to the FG BG selection in the popup box, or scroll for a different gradient. As you can see, even though you have different FG & BG colors the popup box comes up black and white there. No worries, just click it and you can see the colors have "taken" in the dialog box. After that, click OK and the next dialog comes up. Sometimes it scoots behind the first one and you kind of have to click behind the first box. While the script is running, it makes a sphere in the layers. That's the sphere from the gradient. Also note at the very top, in the dropdown box, choose Run Interactive. That give you the choice of any other maps you have open and may want to use.
Gradient and Run Interactive are the only two changes I made in the default settings.

I may save this bit for a full-blown future tutorial.

Must try this. As they say...baby steps! I would totally love it if you could actually do a full blown tutorial. That would definitely be printed and stored in my folder!!!! As wonderful as a computer is, having a written page of instructions is often the best way for repeated reference!

I would just copy them all and paste them into one place, then print them. If you look at the beginning of the thread, Tux gave all kinds of instructions for this script.

The only problem is that there are hint and instructions in many different posts, even different threads...I should have started collecting them when the script was first written, but I was busy and behind the times and am just now getting into this binge. I should have been collecting information on a lot of scripts but now it's too little too late, as they say.
