@Onkel Hatti
GCC version is not the same between Gimp 2.8.6 and older versions Gimp 2.8.
There is no compilation problem but I should do in 3 compilations environment:
- Gimp 2.6
- Gimp 2.8.0 to 2.8.4
- Gimp 2.8.6

This is a problem for users (and also time to compile).

I'm having problems when I use a brush from the clipboard and Velocity Tapering dynamic (brush spacing=1).
Image
I think that this problem did not happen in previous versions.

Edit:
Mmm, the problem also happens with Dynamics Off.

There is a small problem compatibility with G'MIC (64-bit Win) and the new version of Gimp 2.8.6 Sourceforge :
The Gimp 2.8.6 compiler is no longer the same.

******
I will not propose a compiled version of G'MIC-64bit-Win because there will be problems with users and different versions of Gimp 2.8.
I'll maybe make a portable version with binaries from Sourceforge where everything is pre-installed to avoid problems.

Merci for explanation, samj!
But this sounds a little odd. If Jernej Simoncic used a different windows compiler for 2.8.6 why my other 64-bit C plugins are not
affected? Is this a peculiarity of gmic's 64-bit binaries?

Almost looks like it is having a problem rendering each 1 pixel layer of the brush.
Here are my results with Onkels version 2.8.7 Portable dynamics OFF.

Dynamics ON creates the effect here.

Definitely better with dynamics OFF. I also get these same results in Gimp-2.8.4

Thanks Rod for the test. I see you have the same problem when using brush dynamics. I will keep experimenting before reporting.

@K1TesseraEna

It depends on the compilation of plug-ins (More particularly environments compilation). G'MIC is not the only-in plug-in affected, I just noticed this today by installing Gimp 2.8.6. It is not very important, simply re-compile.

In single Window Mode, it appears they have reverted back to GIMP 2.6.x behavior when clicking the X in the upper right corner. Since GIMP 2.8.x, clicking the X in the upper right corner would close open images one at a time, then finally close GIMP, once all open images are closed.

This appears to no longer be the case in GIMP 2.8.6. If there are open images that do not need to be saved, clicking the X just closes GIMP. It's not a problem for me, as I actually prefer it this way.

I have a question about 32 / 64 bits

I have Gimp 2.8.6 32 bits (from gimp.org ) for Windows and a bunch of plugins that works with it, that are then 32 bits.
Now i would like to pack all of them into an archive and send them to some of my friends using Gimp so they don't have to hunt for each of them individually.

But some of them may have the 64 bits version of Gimp due to their system being 64 bits (they're all on Windows too). So i'm unsure then , are those 32 bits versions of the plugins i'm using with no problem myself compatible with the 64 bits version of Gimp ?

No, they wont.
The problem makes the different dll files of gimp (libgimp-2.0-0.dll, libgimpwidgets-2.0-0.dll, etc.). They are 32bit in your environment, and 64bit in others. 32bit plug-ins cannot call 32bit dll functions from these dlls.
There are two possibilities:
64Bit plug-ins, obviously
a complete 32bit dll environment.

The official gimp-2.8.6 has such a complete 32bit dll environment in the '32' folder. With that version, your plugins can be used.

It disappeared the Image > Transform > "Arbitrary Rotation" option in GIMP 2.8.6?

Is that option existed before, right? Or am I confusing with layer options?

EDIT:
I think I'm confused and I'm getting ahead of the canvas rotation feature :hehe
