Thanks for the link to those depthmaps!

You can do some fun things with them... here is the result of a script (I wrote a very long time ago to create roofs from a depth map for use on my maps) run on the bear:

Cool; care to share the script? :)

Nice one! I did a couple of the bear myself - one in glass and one in metal using Bryce.

Like most of my miscellaneous scripts it can be found in the backwater mire of my web server:
http://www.silent9.com/incoming/scripts/thatch.scm

I've never tried it with 2.8 and it may cause the occasional error.

Note that the files at http://www.silent9.com/incoming/scripts/ have no warranties expressed or implied, and may be old versions, etc.

Sorry if I was unclear. I wasn't referring to the video posted in this thread. It was another video I watched a little while back, where you demonstrated how to make an image "pop" with a Popeye line drawing. I think it was your video. :smiley2
That was a cool video!
I think it was this Popeye video.

@Lyle - never ever thought to use it with a "random" fill pattern. It was written to be used with a directional pattern, as it rotates the patterns and blends them together to they run "down" or "across" the heightmap.

I used this pattern Rob; worked fantastic. Used the depth map itself to add additional character with the result from your script. Again, I appreciate you sharing this cool preset. Now, to find more depthmaps. lol

That's for the link Pegleg44 and for the cool script, RobA. I need to check out your script a bit more to see what all it can do.
