I wonder if somehow you can use the algorithm from lazybrush to detect objects. Maybe have an option where you do a quick and dirty brush (separate layer) to mark problematic objects for instance. :)

When were the tree menus changed in G'MIC? I only just noticed. I'll have fun now I guess finding them again.
I see Frames is under it's own heading now and not with Arrays.

Thanks ZondeR. I was surprised but not unhappy. Just thought I may have been a little slow seeing it although I'm sure it has changed recently. Thans for the links too. Must try this new filter soon now.

@lylejk

That's what I suggested earlier in this thread... I was too impatient to wait for somebody else to do it :hehe so see my post in this other thread:

Great filter!!!

Here's what I have discovered. (If you or someone else has mentioned this, forgive me, haha.)

I have to begin with a new image and bring the image I want to deconstruct into it. I tried the filter on a 700 x 700 icon group -- 72 icons. The result changed my image size to 75 x 75. Not very workable. I scaled the image to 2600 x 2600 and ran the filter again. It shrunk the image to 280 x 280. In both cases, it deconstructed the group well. It just shrunk the image by about 90%.

Next, I created a new image -- default is 3600 x 2700 -- and add the 700 x 700 image as a layer. I scale the layer to 2600 x 2600 and run the filter again (at the default settings.) This deconstructed well and this left the image size untouched and icons between 200 and 250 pixels. Very good.

Anyway, maybe that will help someone.

Lots of potential, this.

Groovy, dude.

Brilliant. Amazing. Makes me wish I had the time to learn about writing GIMP scripts. Maybe one day ......

Thank you
