Hey everyone,
i'm trying to install gim-painter on my computer, the one from honkel hatti, change the files .dll to change them as u told to do, and i got still problem for me:
-i'm on windows xp SP3
-still no change of pressure on the canvas with mypaint brushes
and when i create a new picture by changing the scrolling menu in the template (A3,A4...) i got no change in the box related to , it's still 640x400 everywhere and if i click Ok it's really a 640x400 that have been created. Maybe more bug...
I've try sevral time, new downloading, new extracting to see if it was damaged ... it's still the same. Nobody have the same ?

I am running Gimp-Painter in windows vista 32 bit and it looks like it is a bug. I am able to repeat this behaviour. If i select anything in the template drop down the size doesn't change.

But you can either get the size you need by going to Edit>Preferences>Default Image and change the template.
Then select ok to close preferences and make those choices set by restarting Gimp-Painter.You may not have to restart but i did.

OR just type in the size you need manually.

Thanks for reporting this bug. :) :bigthup I am sure Onkel will fix it when he has time.

@Rod

No, Onkel will not. :( I told you, that I will not maintain gimp-painter :hehe .
I don't know enough of the gimp code to maintain a package.
If you want the bug fixed, please contact the original programmer
or try it yourself :bigthup .

Good idea.

And for my lack of pressure sensitivity, no idea ?

Maybe more promoting mypaint and gimp-painter on gimp.,org & with all the linux and windows community could affect and challenge the programmation in itself, and involvement of more programmers...
(just need someone to do it :) )

I use MyPaint but what is the difference between that and gimp-painter? I have never used it or even seen it.

Hi Molly, gimp-painter is a fork of gimp, wich includes mypaint's brushes and others apps.

Thank you daddoo. I just looked it up in
Ramons links.
I don't know if it is an advantage to me or not. I have been using MhPaint for 3 or 4 months now and just getting used to some of the brushes and so forth.

Installed the portable a bit earlier. Pretty dang cool. Take awhile to learn what all the different brushes do, etc, but it's freaking awesome.

hmm I just noticed that Onkel Hatti compiles of gimp painter 2.8 have been removed. Just curious if there's a reason behind this? Is the original programmer OK with the distribution of his work?

I just checked his files on source-forge and the painter files as well as others are gone but I still have the zip packages if you desperately need them

Nope I don't need It I was just curious, I just read in samj 2.8.10 topic Gimp 2.8.10 portable why Onkel Hatti removed builds. not sure if I understand it in layman's terms yet its a reason why. just didn't want new forum visitor's to be wondering where the files went to. Thanks for being so helpful Graechan.

i am very irritated about

Gimp staff consider patches ONLY if published in "diff" format

Now Onkel removed all his build because somebody complain about violation of GPL because diff were no no merged with the gimp source code

I am not a lawyer so to me provide the diff+ the link of the Gimp source code seems identical to provide the modified source code
(for sure who know how use the source code, know also how merge the diff... The others that consider "source code" as a rocket scientist thingy can't appreciate such quibbles ,and will only complain for dead links
