Nice of you to provide this. :bigthup

Virtualization gives us lots of flexibility. It seems that no matter how much power I have, I always seem to want to use it all for the task at hand. On a client, there is a price to pay for virtualization, in terms of resources.

I'm typing this now in my Virtualbox XP samj. lol

Big fan of Virtualbox; even have a 64-bit version of Ubuntu for one of my VMs. :)

I see still have work to do porting the filters to GEGL, but the work is quite advanced. Version 2.10 will be a great release!

samj, thank you very much for taking your time to do these VM and share them.

Edit.
GnuTux, the dancer Tux is very funny :mrgreen:

# Samj:

Bonjour,
Only a question:
As you yet implement Guess Additions, I wouldn't have to install it when I'll install Virtual Box?.
I will install your Deb VM on Point Linux (Debian 7 based) and Fedora 17.

Thanks.

samj, thanks again!

Regarding the Debian 64-bit version. The user "gimpeval" not automatically logged in, Should be that way?
Also I can not mount the flash drive, I get message: "failed to mount - not authorized"
I found the following report, but it seems old:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=623496

For those unable to mount the pendrive, open the terminal and type
su

type the password:
roottoor

and mount the device independent file system:
mount /dev/sdb1 /media/cdrom0

@jamac4k

The "guest additions" are installed on all versions I propose.

If you want to create a "Fedora" virtual machine with the "guest additions" :
- install gcc kernel dkms make bzip2 + drive guest additions + ./VBoxLinuxAdditions.run
- careful if you want to compile Gimp 2.9.1 , "yum" works very poorly on the latest version of Fedora.

@YAFU

The "Debian" version is created by hand with a minimum of programming. My goal was only to compile Gimp.
You can create more complete versions by choosing a desktop during installation :)

You can log in as root directly if you wish.

Am I correct that the foreground select tool and the seamless clone too are not functional yet in 2.9.1?
