I don't know what this is, but I had a ball creating it. :hehe
Critiques are welcome, if you so wish.

Feels quite dramatic actually, dramatic in a space-scale way. I don't interpret it as something sudden, but rather like some huge effect viewed from a large distance, like the formation of a nebula. Cool!

Gorgeous work Wallace. Looks like you used a flame fractal, some lens flare and other stuff. A couple of small planets in the foreground might add scale, depth and drama.

Really nice, i would add some more Detail like more nebula in distance or more colorvariations for the stars.

Could you try a quasar? :D http://wall.alphacoders.com/big.php?i=4317

And why is your art here so much different then compared with this? http://geosammy.deviantart.com/gallery/29153469
Just curious :)

I'm not sure what you mean. I believe that about 99% of my art that can be seen DA was made with Gimp.
Most of what I've posted here can also be found in my deviantArt account.
Also, some things I make exclusively for GC and others for DA.
There's also much more in terms of my art in my deviantArt account then there is here.

BTW... Here an image update.

Two stars in a binary, colliding. I like the colors in it, nice explosion orange.

I think it looked better without the planets myself. :)
Cool super nova effect.

Cool super nova effect.

Yeah me too, but those were suggestions to help make the image more interesting and I really like to use super novas whenever I can. :bigthup
